[2] Practice Makes Perfect
Second drawing of MX.
Let's address the elephant in the room here: Why does MX have a missile launcher? When I was designing MX's character, I wanted to somehow set her apart from the others; I needed something to make her unique. One of those things I ended up doing is giving her a modified PCML from ArmA 3. On a gameplay level, this can make MX incredibly unique, because she could basically be the only Griffin non-HOC doll that can deal force shield damage. I could see her being used in a para echelon, for example, as a way to deal with force shields when fighting out-of-range from HOCs.
On a story level, this also fits with MX's character background. Basically, MX was brought to Griffin because of her experience with missile systems. As the war with SF grew in ferocity, Griffin needed better ways to deal with armoured units such as Manticores. So they brought MX over from another PMC and basically told her to create a system for hunting down high-threat targets. Thus, MX created Nomad team, which included herself, ACR, Tac-50, GM6 Lynx, and LWMMG. Nomad team was designed to be a mobile strike force that specialized in anti-armour warfare, constantly moving from battlefield to battlefield to aid conventional friendly forces. Compared to your average Griffin squad, they aren't really focused on long-term engagements or holding down territory.

"CONTACT! Manticore, 600 metres bearing 335!"
"Locking target! Clear blast!"
"Firing!"
Kalina finally managed to get some training missiles, so I took a trip to the outdoors long-distance firing range with some colleagues. It's always fun to send some rounds downrange, and I also found out how good of a spotter Tac-50 is, God bless Canada 🇨🇦.
I still don't know who my squad mates are, the paperwork's been taking forever. I saw some other girls hanging round the urban training area earlier, maybe some of them will become my new teammates?
I dunno though, I heard some of the dolls here at G&K are like, REALLY WEIRD, though not always in a bad way. I guess I'm a bit apprehensive, but I'm sure everything will be alright. I do wonder though, how is everyone getting along with their team?
Photo creds: Tac-50, or rather, her drone. 👍
