３．色々な人がプレイしているゲームだけど、その中には自分が現実で乗っている車が出ることで親近感がわく人もいるから。
４．すでに「パープルメテオ」でＢＮＲ３２（illust/128713378）を使ってしまっているから。

Ｑ：どうして原作から人物の名前を変更しているの？
Ａ：以下の３つが理由です。
１．もともとは自分のオリジナル小説のキャラクターとして数人のキャラクターを考え出したけど、首都高バトル、街道バトルシリーズのキャラを出す時に新しく名前やデザインを考えるのが面倒だったから「だったら流用しよう。」と考えたから。
２．ドリームキャストの首都高バトル２と、プレイステーション２の首都高バトル０では、日本国内版と海外でのローカライズ版では、人物の名前が全く違うものだったから。
３．いろいろな車を小説に出すにあたって、「それなら他のキャラクターも車と名前が変わっていないと統一感がないよね」と歯止めが利かなくなったから。

Q: Why have you changed the car model from the original?
A: There are four reasons
1. Because I don't like to have car models with other characters.
2．Because I want to draw a variety of cars, including to practice drawing.
3．Because the game is played by many different people, and some of them feel closer to the cars they drive in real life.
4. I've already used BNR32 in "Purple Meteor" ( illust/120882401).

Q: Why did you change the characters' names from the original?
A: There are three reasons below.
1. I originally came up with a few characters for my own original novel, but when I was introducing characters from the Shutoko Battle and Kaido Battle series, it was a pain to come up with new names and designs, so I thought, ``Then I'll reuse them.''
2. In Shutoko Battle 2 for the Dreamcast and Shutoko Battle 0 for the PlayStation 2, the characters' names were completely different between the Japanese version and the overseas localized version.
3. When it came to introducing various cars into the novel, I couldn't stop myself from thinking, ``If that's the case, the cars and names of the other characters must also change, otherwise there won't be a sense of unity.''
