No.13 Class Preliminary Design G

Design G was a further modification of the 3 quadruple turreted variant E. Here the aftermost quadruple turret got replaced by two twins but the design was improved being a 3rd twin turret added forward making the quadruple turrets on an elevated position on the 1st deck and increasing the number of 41cm cannons to 14! The same number of cannons were only carried by a single battleship HMS Agincourt ex Rio de Janeiro ex Sultan Osman I. This design was surprisingly shorter then the previous F version despite having more barrels and more turrets, which shows how large the hulls were of these proposals, but of course this came at a sacrifice of larger engine power of 162.000shp required to propel the ship not to mention the extra 4.400tons of displacement!

Displacement: 52.800tons (standard)
Armour: 305mm Belt inclined at 15 degrees, 114mm Deck, 76mm Slopes
Engines: 162.000shp Gihon Steam Turbines, 4 shafts
Speed: 56km/h (30knots)
Armaments:
2x4,3x2 410mm/45 Type 3 / 3rd Year Type Cannons,
16x1 140mm/50 Type 3 / 3rd Year Type Guns,
4x1 120mm/45 Type 10 / 10th Year Type AA Guns,
8x1 61cm Above Water Torpedo Tubes
