He was born in 1968 where he was brought up in a shopping avenue in the rural area of Sapporo city. His foundational disposition was cultivated with the economic point of view and human relations he had back in those days. In that needy childhood, what enchanted and inspired him to dream was the genre of puzzles and trick arts. He was fascinated by the world of puzzle solving and infinite potential created out of merely single sheet of paper. Particularly he became familiar with and profoundly inspired by Ukiyoe (Japanese woodblock prints which typically portray everyday life in the Edo Period) by Kuniyoshi Utagawa back in elementary school days, with its abundant sense of humor, playfulness, bold concept, and the adversarial quality toward the authority. While being academically gifted, he consistently felt the discrepancy between his peers and himself in terms of the concept of money, which has always caused him to be racked with the sense of inferiority, even after graduating from college and going into the real world. As much as he loved arts, he considered art as the useless and unnecessary trash from a social point of view on the other hand, which ultimately led him to refrain from getting involved in art activities/projects for a long time, in order to fully face the market economy. From his perspective, the art is, in one way, feces of the escapism of social outcasts. He presents somewhat cool stances in overall art projects he creates. Back in college days, he contributed his critical essays on modern society to free newspapers, and afterward published his own book as well. However, he was confronted with the limitation in conveying his messages in the way he intended, to the ones he wishes to reach out above all else-the genuine poorest segment of the population. By depicting the distortion of contemporary society in his caricatures, he makes sure to consistently take the viewpoint of ordinary folks when depicting motifs of his projects, so as to laugh off the unreasonable authority and shed light on common people leading humble yet decent lives, in hope of ultimately energizing and inspiring them. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
