My name is XUESONG. I am a chinese gay comic artist and I had been living in China for most of my life. My friends often tell me that… if I didn’t spend all my time drawing all the gay hunks, I would probably be the most famous manga artist in China by now, LOL. And of course I didn’t listen to them and I end up becoming this unappreciated amateur comic artist. LOL
I was born on 7th, May, 1982, in a small town called Xipeng, in one of the biggest cities of China – Chongqing. My father was a firefighter and my mom worked at a local chemistry factory. So I was brought up at this small town in the south west of China, and my childhood is not great but still has a lot of pleasant moments. Since my family has no money at all, my parents, me, and my grandma had to share a small appartment for quite a few years.
When I was little, I didn’t get to play much with the kids. I have learnt to entertain myself by drawing, singing and making up my own stories. Now people tells me that I am talented in drawing, well, that’s actually just a gift from the loneliness to a kid who never have playmates.
When I grew up, I decided to leave the life I knew and chase my dream in a bigger city. And I did. Life is not easy, and I managed my way to work through the difficult time, now I finally get some free time to do what I really like: the gay comic.
Last year I published my first gay comic in France and officially become another unappreciated publishing comic artist, but also, the first Chinese who ever published a gay comic in France.
Among all the gay comic authors out there, I consider myself a very serious one. I know this is a tough thing, but I want to create the high quality stuff. I am a control freak when it comes to drawing.
I didn’t have any artistic education background, I learnt everything about drawing myself and I fight my way to become a professional gay comic artist, which is… harder than flying to the moon, lol.
People who knows me would probably tell you that, I am never a quitter.
